Dog joins Westport library as a staff member. 
It doesn't seem like a dog could be a staff member but scientists say that it actually helps children learn as they let the children go at their own pace. The new staff member Quaker, a 3-year-old German shepherd listens to children read. A University of California have studied veterinary medicine and have found that children that read had to a dog once a week for 10 weeks will have great improvement. Quaker is a regular visitor to the library since she was a pup.

Attitude

today a man named Lex came to school and told us about Attitude. Everyone in Marama got given a book and was told to take a test to see what animal they are, out of a lion, a bever, a golden retriever and a otter. the otters are funny, the Lions take lead, the bevers like clean and tidy and the golden retrievers are peaceful. I thought I would be an otter but I turned out to be a Golden Retriever. He came to school to talk about attitude. Lex was funny. He told a lot of jokes. My Favourite joke was when one of his classmate's pencils kept breaking so the kid put the pencil onto the floor and body slammed it then started rolling on the floor in pain because of the pencil went into his foot.

My favorite activity was the test. Because I liked taking the test. And all of the animals I liked so it helped me find the right one. 2 things that I learned from Lex was to never stop trying. And that stories have facts.
